Dr. Joshua Hyman offers a specialized, non-surgical mole removal process at his state-of-the-art, boutique clinic where you can expect the highest level of patient health and safety and excellent results.

Why choose Dr. Hyman for non-surgical mole removal?

Dr. Hyman serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical Center and is on staff at Lenox Hill Hospital, Northwell Health. He and his staff are focused on providing advanced health and safety protocols for every procedure, including mole removal. His in-house surgical center is state-of-the-art and holds a perfect safety record.

Moles can be removed using several methods, including excision, freezing, or skin resurfacing.

The first step in the process is to meet with Dr. Hyman, a double-board-certified plastic surgeon who has performed thousands of procedures over decades in practice.

During your initial consultation with our plastic surgeon, he will discuss your objectives and expectations for the procedure with you. This will include a complete medical history and an examination of the mole and the surrounding area. Dr. Joshua Hyman will suggest a procedure that suits you best and answer any questions you might have.

Mole removal

A mole, or “nevus,” is a natural growth, and most people have at least a few by the time they reach adulthood. Some moles are referred to as pigmented lesions and can be removed without incisions, while others will require a minor incision.

What can I expect from the procedure?

Moles can be removed through several methods. Shallow moles can be removed with a “shave” procedure, which excises colored, raised lesions. Other moles are darker and deeper and can be removed with a small incision, which is then stitched closed.

Age spots, sunspots, freckles, and other skin discolorations can be treated with the Morpheus8 system, and some moles can be “frozen” off. The procedure takes only minutes to complete, while you rest in comfort in our private boutique clinic. Only local anesthesia is needed.

What can I expect after my mole removal procedure?

The area from which the mole was removed will need to be covered with a bandage to protect it and accelerate healing. A minor scar could remain in the area, but this will fade to become virtually invisible.
