You will be able to go home a few hours after your surgery. You will need someone else to drive you due to the anesthesia. Your buttocks will be protected with dressings, and you will need to wear a special garment to keep the area firmly in place and reduce swelling. Dr. Hyman will provide thorough aftercare instructions, and we are available to answer any questions or concerns, day or night.
You can expect some swelling and tenderness for the first week or two after surgery. These symptoms will diminish as your body heals, but you will see visible results right away. You will have some physical activity restrictions. Dr. Hyman will monitor your healing process and approve activities as your recovery progresses. The outcome will be apparent within about six months.
With a Brazilian Butt Lift, you will be required to sleep on your stomach, wear your compression garment, and avoid sitting directly on your newly enhanced buttocks for up to eight weeks. You will use a special pillow when sitting in a chair. The goal is for the transferred fat cells to remain in place and to become integrated into your natural tissue, which can take up to a month.
